Cesis-Valmiera

Cesis is an ancient, little town placed 90 km from Riga. In 2006 Cesis had 800th anniversary celebration. Cesis has unique medieval atmosphere, wonderful nature to be found around the town, interesting festivals and different recreation opportunities.
Valmiera is the largest town in Vidzeme and is divided into parts by one of the most beautiful rivers in Latvia - Gauja.

The route connects those two cities - Cesis and Valmiera and lays in forest, where in medieval times were walking knights, who are mentioned in Indrik's Chronicles.
