Fishing in Latvia

Latvia is a small country on the Baltic coast, but rich in spectacular landscapes and unspoilt nature. It's rivers and lakes harbour various species of fish: carp, perch, pike, pike-perch, bream, crucian, tench, roach, vimba and chub.

The favorite forms of fishing in Latvia are:
-Angling

-Fishing with a floater or a sinker
-Fishing from a boat or from the shore
-Under-ice fishing in winter.

Fishing in Latvia is regulated by fishing rules.To fish in public waters in Latvia you must obtain a fishing permit (casts about 6-8 EUR) and, in some cases, a license as well.
