Classical Lithuania tour 6 days/ 5 nights

1st day: Welcome to Vilnius!

2nd day: Vilnius – Trakai - Vilnius
-Breakfast at the hotel
-Morning Vilnius Old Town walking tour with the guide
During the tour you will see: Vilnius Cathedral and its square, the University campus, Pilies street with the 16 – 18th century historical and architectural monuments, Gothic corner of Vilnius with St. Anne’s and Bernardine churches, the former Town Hall square, the Dawn Gate with a miraculous icon of Virgin Mary, the 17th century Baroque church of St. Peter and Paul.

Trakai - the ancient capital of Lithuania is now famous for its 15th century insular castle housing an exhibition on prehistoric findings and 17 – 18th century applied art, the way of life of the Lithuanian Grand Dukes, and Karaites, brought to Lithuania from the Crimea.

3rd day: Vilnius – Rumsiskes – Kaunas

-Guided departure to Kaunas with an en route stop at one of the largest Open Air museums in Europe - Rumsiskes Open Air museum
The open-air museum in Rumsiskes was opened in 1974 and covers the total area of 175 ha which contains 140 buildings from the 18th–19th century with the restored original interiors and surroundings. The museum displays the heritage of Lithuanian rural life in a vast collection of authentic re-erected buildings where the Lithuanian people lived and worked.

Kaunas with nearly 400 thousand inhabitants is one of the most significant cities of Lithuania. During the early 20th century, governed by its first Burgomaster Jonas Vileisis, Kaunas was the home of the Lithuanian Government and the capital city; a period considered by many as the golden age of the city...

4th day: Kaunas – The Hill of Crosses – Palanga
-Breakfast at the hotel
-Guided departure to Palanga with an en route stop at the Hill of Crosses
Hill of Crosses - a small hill covered with thousands of crosses has become a symbol of Lithuanian nationhood and deep religious faith. Since mid 19th century it has been the place of expressing gratitude to God for divine favors.
-Arrival in Palanga and Palanga sightseeing with the guide
The tour includes most famous spots in the resort area town, one of the prettiest, best preserved, best maintained parks in Lithuania’s coastal region - Palanga Botanical Park and The palace of Count Feliksas Tiskevicius (now Amber Museum) which was built in 1897 according to the project of a German architect Franz Schwechten.
-At the evening we advice you to enjoy the walk on Basanavicus street where you will find a lot of cafes and different attractions. This is the main street leading to the Pier.
-Overnight in Palanga near the sea

5th day: Palanga – Klaipeda – The Curonian Spit
-Breakfast at the hotel
-Guided morning tour of Klaipeda – gateway to the Curonian Spit
During the tour you will see the best of Klaipeda’s Old Town with its “Fachwerk” and neogothic buildings.
-Cross by ferry to the Curonian Spit included in UNESCO heritage list, Curonian Spit sightseeing with the guide
At this beatiful place of the world - the Curonian Spit - you will discover the Great Dune, with its magnificent panoramic view, the old fishermen’s cottages at Nida, the “Hill of Witches”, Thomas Mann's summer house in Nida. To make your visit really unforgettable we advice you to visit the Maritime Museum and Dolphinarium where you may observe live dolphin show.
-Overnight in Nida (The Curonian Spit)

6th day: The Curonian Spit -Vilnius

-Breakfast at the hotel
-Transfer to Vilnius International airport or a great possibility to extend your leisure stay here for some days more
