National Gallery of Art (NGA) which is a subdivision of the Lithuanian Art Museum, collects and exhibits Lithuanian art of the 20th and 21st centuries and consolidates its links to the international culture. National Gallery of Art educates and raises audience awareness and knowledge of the visual contemporary culture. It also operates as a dynamic multifunctional centre of art and culture in the new business and administration centre of Vilnius.
NGA contains eleven halls dedicated to a permanent-collection-exposition, a grand hall for temporary exhibitions, an open-air exposition court, a multi-media as well as a multi-purpose auditorium for conferences and cultural events, an information centre, an educational centre, a bookshop and a café. The NGA building combines features of the late modernism and high-tech styles.
