One day excursion to the North Latvia in Gauja National Park including visits of Sigulda, Araisi and Cesis.
In Sigulda which is one of the most picturesque towns in Latvia we will see the Medieval Sigulda Castle, Sigulda new Castle (Kropotkin Palace), Turaida Medieval Castle, visit local history museum, Gutmana cave, Krimulda Manor and other historical and natural objects.
Afterwards we head to a cultural historical monument Araisi Museum Park. It consists of reconstructed buildings from the Stone and Bronze Ages, ancient Latgalians settlements from the 9th-11th centuries, as well as castle ruins from the Livonian period. Araisi Lake Castle is presently the most extensively studied site of this kind in the whole of northeast Europe.
In the third part of our North Latvia sightseeing tour we visit ne of the most beautiful towns in Latvia - Cesis. The medieval castle ruins are the symbol of Cesis and, together with its park, create the romantic atmosphere in the town. The cobbled streets of Cesis Old Town have preserved the their layout from the Middle Ages, keeping also the old buildings with red tiled roofs, closed yards, and restored facades of the buildings.
