Rundale Palace is one of the most outstanding monuments of Baroque and Rococo art in Latvia. It was built between 1736 and 1740 as a summer residence of Duke Ernst Johann of Courland.
The Italian architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli designed Rundale Palace and supervised construction work.
When we arrive in Rundale Palace the master of court's ceremonies and the maid of honour will welcome all guests on the parade stairway. During the trip through state rooms for guests is maden ancient music concert in the White hall.
After the visit of state apartments guests are welcomed to the Duke's private apartments, that consist of luxurious salons in rococo style. The courtiers will tell you about the history of Duke's family in the Private apartments of Duke, interesting facts about the life of court of the 18th century.
Exquisite and feminine Duchess Boudoir still keeps the charm of gallant century. There is no better place to make a declaration of love to your beloved lady.
The walk through alleys and the green gallery of French Regular Park will be a nice attribute of your historical trip (in summer).
After this, all guests are invited in the Palace back, there a banquet table will be laid with typical 18th century meals.
